Help plan bike, pedestrian future in Richmond

RICHMOND - Locals can help plan Richmond's future as a more pedestrian- and bike-friendly place next month.

The following workshops and activities are scheduled as the city embarks on assembling a Pedestrian Plan and a Bicycle Master Plan:

  • Community kickoff meeting: 6 to 8 p.m., May 12, Richmond Recreation Complex, 3230 Macdonald Ave.
  • Bicycle planning workshop: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 15, 440 Civic Center Plaza, multipurpose room
  • Walkable design workshop 1: 5 to 8 p.m., May 19, Nevin Community Center, 598 Nevin Ave.
  • Walkable design workshop 2: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 22, Coronado Elementary School, 2001 Virginia Ave.
  • Closing workshop: 6 to 8 p.m., May 27, Richmond Recreation Complex, 3230 Macdonald Ave.
