SAN FRANCISCO, April 6, 2007 -- Northern California’s leading construction and real estate executives have named Frank L. Rollo as the recipient of City of Hope’s Spirit of Life® Award, in recognition of his philanthropic work and dedication to the community and his profession. More than 600 industry leaders are expected to attend the May 10 dinner honoring Rollo at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.

“I believe strongly in City of Hope and its mission of scientific discovery,” said Rollo. “The dedication of City of Hope’s physicians and scientists mirrors that of our industry members, who share City of Hope’s commitment to improving the lives of patients with serious diseases. I am proud to be a part of such a tenacious group.” For more information about the dinner or City of Hope, contact Alexandra Woods at 415-369-0370 or at awoods@coh.org.

As Treadwell & Rollo’s principal engineer, Rollo serves in senior technical management roles on a variety of geotechnical engineering projects in San Francisco and the western United States. He has 40 years of experience in geotechnical and environmental investigations, foundation design and construction and site assessments, including the development of Mission Bay, Embarcadero Center and many other high-rise buildings throughout the San Francisco area and California.

The Northern California Real Estate and Construction Business Alliance (REC) is celebrating its 21st year of dedication, generosity and commitment in support of City of Hope. Throughout its 21-year history, participation in the REC has brought together a cross-section of industries representing real estate and construction professionals, brokers, building owners, developers and consultants on behalf of a single philanthropic goal: supporting the lifesaving treatment and compassionate care of City of Hope. To date, the REC has raised more than $2 million for City of Hope, making this industry alliance one of the premier fundraising groups in the region.
